Ian Luffman-Smith is a profoundly deaf rally driver who also recently got diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is preparing a Fiesta ST150 to be entered in both the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship and the 5 Nations British Rallycross Championship, starting from next season, 2022. His only sources of income are his disability benefits. Ian is 58 years old and used to stage rally Ford Escorts back in the '80s and '90s. The car's livery is in support of the charity Prostate Cancer UK, to help raise awareness and funds for future research into this terrible disease. Once Ian gets to the stage where he can't physically race any longer, hopefully a few years from now, then the car will be auctioned and the funds donated to the charity. To date Ian has raised over £13,000 in services and parts, with six times national rallycross champion Julian Godfrey building and tuning the engine. The car will be very competitive and Ian is hoping for some podiums. He has also raised over £500 for the charity so far. Ian needs about another £15,000 to complete the car, and £10,000 to race in both championships each season. "There are still advertising spaces available on the car, and he will be printing a full colour A5 brochure about the project, the charity and our sponsors. This will be given out at all the events and shows we attend. Ian will also upload videos to YouTube and his website is presently under construction.
