CARDIFF CELTS BASKETBALL CLUB
Cardiff Celts Basketball Club is Cardiff's only club which focuses on the development of men and women's basketball, junior to senior, grass roots to semi-professional, disabled and non-disabled basketball. This year the club is moving to a brand new facility and it is planned to run sessions every night of the week for those aged 10 to 40+. From these sessions teams will be put together to compete in the local, regional and national leagues, allowing everyone the opportunity to participate and achieve a goal. In addition the men have been promoted to Division One, a first for Cardiff in fifteen years. This programme creates a comprehensive development pyramid from grass roots to paralympic and international athletes, young to old, disabled and non-disabled, male and female, in an area where sport has struggled to get established due to the disaffection within the area, etc. The club currently runs eight teams: English National League Division 1 Mens basketball, Division 2 Womens, Division 2 Wheelchair basketball, Development Wheelchair, U18 and U16 Boys, Development Women, Welsh National League Men and South Wales Coast League for Boys. The club would like a sponsor in order to apply for funding to Sportsmatch. For the programme to run effectively they would need to raise approximately £30,000 - if they could find a sponsor(s) to raise £15,000, Sportsmatch would match the original sum, equalling £30,000. This would cover court hire, referees, equipment (basketballs, clocks), advertising, stationery, etc. A private sponsor will be included on all advertisements, media releases and community events the club works on, all over Cardiff and the south of Wales. "We would really like to hear from sponsors who would like to get involved and make a positive impact on the lives of so many individuals". Contact: Sponsorship Department. Address: Western Leisure Centre, Caeraul Lane, Ely, Cardiff, South Glamorgan, Wales, CF5 5HJ. Tel.: 02920 593592. E-mail: hinch2002@yahoo.co.uk.

CITY OF BRISTOL BASKETBALL CLUB - STORM
The City of Bristol Basketball Club - Storm are Bristol's only inner city basketball club who focus on the development of women's basketball and junior basketball. This year it is planned to run sessions for boys and girls from the age of 10 to 18. From these sessions teams will be put together to compete in the relevant junior league, whether that be locally, regionally or nationally, allowing the youngsters achieve their ambitions. In addition the women's programme will not only add several teams to the local leagues but also add Bristol's first women's national league side in over a decade. This programme creates an overall pyramid structure from young to old, in an area where sport has struggled to get established due to the costs of venue hire, etc. For the programme to be successful the club needs to raise approximately £8,000 in the form of advertising and/or sponsorship. The club would really like to hear from sponsors who would be interested in being involved in a programme which could have an extremely positive impact on the lives of so many youngsters - in an area where it is very much needed. SCOTTISH SPORTS FUTURES
The charity Scottish Sports Futures works with disadvantaged children both in schools and in the evenings in Scotland. It works closely with the Scottish Government (through Cashback), the NHS, The Robertson Trust and many others. The coming months will see its exposure increase dramatically and hopefully this will aid the charity in getting commercial backing so that it can increase its programmes in Scotland. "We have two core programmes which we run, Jump2it and Shell Twilight Basketball. Jump2it is a Scotland-wide initiative by the Scottish Sports Futures charity and basketball team, the Scottish Rocks, whose players go into schools and talk to the children about smoking, nutrition and physical fitness while providing an introduction to basketball. Participating schools also take part in a basketball tournament, with the final played on the Rocks' court at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. These programmes run for six weeks and we currently work with 130 schools with the aim over the next year to increase to 175. Our Twilight programme works with disadvantaged children with areas of social deprivation. Children from the age of 11 to 21 work with our team of youth workers and sports coaches on Friday evenings - the sessions are free to all who participate. The aims of both programmes are to     encourage 11 to 21 year olds to avoid alcohol, drugs and crime    increase self esteem, team work and social skills    increase knowledge and awareness of how diet and fitness can change lives    promote refugee and asylum seeker integration. We are looking to work with commercial sponsors across both these programmes. There are a range of opportunities available - please email me for more information". SBL/001 LONDON BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The London Basketball League promotes and supports basketball in London. The league is organising a development division with teams from deprived groups - and would like to have a sponsor in order to apply for funding to Sportsmatch. Sportsmatch would match the original sum. The estimated cost of such a division is around £8,000 per season, which would cover court hire, referees, equipment (basketballs, clocks), advertising, stationery and trophies. The participants are from deprived backgrounds and would not be able to pay the full cost. There is potential for a private sponsor to advertise all over London and have access to a long list of community media, say the organisation. Contact: Kaiko Tavaste, League Secretary. Address: POBox 47753, London NW10 2WZ. Tel.: 07837 427029. E-mail: info@londonbasketballleague.com.

SBL/003 MILTON KEYNES BASKETBALL FOUNDATION

Milton Keynes - a basketball destination waiting to happen. 300,000 people, an 800 seat basketball arena due in 2024, the 4,000 seat Marshall Arena already in place, the nearest BBL team sixty miles away - and probably the largest and fastest growing junior community basketball programme outside of the BBL.

MK Basketball has grown from just forty kids in a small gym back in 2018 to a programme now offering community and JNL basketball to over 350 boys and girls, with plans to expand from two to four basketball centres, 500 players and a CVL within MK itself.

Working with two local secondary schools, September 2021 will see the start of the MK Basketball Academy, as well as the first Senior Men's National League team to play in MK since the MK Lions left almost a decade ago.

"Already a great success, the club is looking for investment and committed partners to share our journey, put Milton Keynes firmly on the basketball map and work towards becoming a professional organisation that the city can be proud of".

SBL/005 THE WHEELERZ
The Wheelerz is a locally-run wheelchair basketball team. It is open to all, whether disabled or able-bodied, from twelve to fifty, male or female. "We help people to have fun and at the same time get fit. We do not have a sponsor and are in danger of having to give up, as we are so short of funds. The subscriptions, which are paid monthly, do not cover the cost of the hall hire. So come on, help the little clubs bring a smile to those who need it the most!" Contact: John Smart.
