VPH Open 5 race takes the lead in lining up inspirational sponsorship opportunities
The Open 5 Mile Race at Victoria Park, Hackney, is being organised by Victoria Park Harriers and Tower Hamlets AC Hackney, the closest club to 2012 Olympic Stadium.
2008 will see the 41st anniversary of this event and with 2012 in mind it offers the chance to make a real difference. The club is seeking sponsors urgently, to assist in making this a truly outstanding event and one which will continue the tradition of attracting not only the cream of UK talent but also a number of élite international runners. Past UK winners have included Commonwealth and Olympic athletes Eamonn Martin, Steve Crabb and Rob Denmark. Sponsoring this race presents a real opportunity for a company to benefit from substantial promotional activities. However it will also be an investment in a whole community and in particular in young people, who will be inspired to make their mark on the athletics world in 2012. Several young athletes from the club are already strong Olympic hopefuls - they put in endless hours of work alongside their coaches, all being members of a community sharing the Olympic ideals of dedication, teamwork and sportsmanship. Becoming a sponsor of the VPH Open 5 will provide the sponsoring company with significant promotional opportunities and exposure to a large number of race participants, spectators and the wider public. Sponsors' logos will be displayed on the commemorative prizes and official race website, etc. and can of course be tailored to meet sponsors' own specific objectives, be they local or national. Obviously time is of the essence as the race is just over two months from now. "We would like to ensure that our sponsor receives as much publicity as possible in the lead up to the race. Adding such details to the Runners World website will reach many thousands of athletes, both nationally and internationally".
