PLYMOUTH'S FLAVOUR FEST HAS A FEAST OF OPPORTUNITIES ON THE MENU FOR 2006
Plymouth's 'Flavour Fest' food and drink festival has become the region's biggest local producers market, and offers a range of sponsorship opportunities across a week of activity, which this year will run from 14th-20th August.
Sponsorship offers affiliation with a fresh, innovative and popular brand, promoting good food, nutrition and environmental values. The Plymouth City Centre Company, who manage the festival, are keen to work in close partnership with sponsors in order to meet their agreed aims and objectives. The food and drink festival, now in its third year, involves over a hundred food producers, a cookery theatre with celebrity chef demonstrations (Ken Hom, Tanner Brothers, and others) and, in 2005, attracted footfall of over 200,000 across three days. The event is free to the public and not-for-profit. The festival will grow this year, to include Plymouth hotels, restaurants and other producers, including a 'Flavour Fest' signature dish on their menu during the week-long festival. In 2005 Flavour Fest attracted strong regional media coverage, with twelve minutes of regional TV coverage, radio and newspaper editorial amounting to 70 columns x 486cms with a value of £46,680.00. In addition, the event was supported with a direct advertising and marketing package to a value of of £15,000. Benefits include branding and marketing, promotional opportunities, eg branding of the cookery theatre and the sponsor's company logo on all promotional materials (including posters and banners); the showcasing of the sponsor's product or service in the marquee/stand; and corporate hospitality. The event is attended by all cross-sections of society - it has a real cachet and can offer excellent networking opportunities.
