Hackney RFC is a club on the up. Its adult division runs two sides, with the 1st XV having secured promotion for the second season running and the club attracting new members every week.

The club's youth division was awarded the Presidents XV Award in 2008, having grown to include almost two hundred children aged 6-16, in just four years.

This success has had a direct impact on the sport in the borough's schools, with several now offering rugby.

The club has a comprehensive development plan in place and the backing of the RFU and Hackney Council.
