CHESWORTH TAEKWON-DO CENTRES
Chesworth Taekwon-Do Centres is a local Taekwon-Do club based in Airdrie. The club offers students, particularly children from deprived areas of Airdrie, the chance to participate in the art. The club also has a kids demonstration and fighting team. The kids are doing a large demonstration at Airdrie workmans club in November and have been invited to conduct a demonstration at Seni09 Live in London - the largest martial arts festival in Europe. The club is a member of Monklands Sports Council and is looking for sponsorship support from any interested parties. Sponsorship would help to fund uniforms and assist in travel to London. BRITISH TAEKWONDO POOMSAE ATHLETE
An individual Taekwondo Forms Athlete has been selected to appear as a member of the British Taekwondo GB Poomsae Team at the World Championships in Mexico in October/November 2014 and two weeks later will also appear as a member of the England team at the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships. His categories will be U50 Male at the World Championships, and U50 Male and Over 30 Team Male in the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships. No funding is received for the sport; therefore funding is now being sought with opportunities for companies to advertise on equipment, bags and clothing carried during travel and at these well-advertised and covered events. The individual is current British Champion, and was also British Champion in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, European Bronze Medallist 2013, Worlds' finalist ranked sixth 2012/13, Male Team Russia 2011 and past Commonwealth Medallist 2008. The athlete has also held numerous international titles and medals from many countries around Europe, including Spain, Finland, Germany, Austria and Scotland.
