Radox in deal with ITV1 to sponsor The Royal

ITV has announced that Radox Herbal Bath will be sponsoring The Royal as part of their integrated communications plan this autumn on ITV1.

The deal includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1, branded trailers and branding on all ITV marketing. The Royal, ITV's successful spin-off from Heartbeat, is an entertaining medical drama set against the colourful tapestry of the swinging 'sixties, taking the prime time Sunday evening slot. The last series averaged 8.5 million viewers and a 37% share.

"Radox Herbal Bath is a perfect partner for The Royal", says the ITV press release, "reinforcing Sunday night as bath night - the ultimate in relaxation and preparation for the week ahead. Radox Herbal Bath has been helping people to feel better for years by expertly blending a mix of herbs and minerals that are renowned for their relaxation or invigoration properties".

22% of The Royal viewers already use Radox Herbal Bath, showing a strong link between the two. The partnership will aim to engage more and more consumers as they unwind on a Sunday evening.

"This is a great opportunity for Radox to be associated with a popular Sunday night TV programme", said Julie Baker, Marketing Director of Radox."Research has shown that a Sunday night is the perfect time to take a relaxing bath and we hope to highlight this to the audience of The Royal".

Jane Reynolds, Sponsorship & Branded Content Executive at ITV Sales, extolled the relevance of the new association: "Radox is a great sponsorship fit for one of ITV's most popular Sunday night series The Royal. The last series averaged a broad 8.5 million viewers in its prime-time Sunday night slot."

The deal was negotiated by Leigh Alexander at ITV and Paul Milsom and Damien Gillman from MGOMD. The creative will be produced by 3sixtymedia.
