John Gannon, the joint founder and commercial director of Brightside Group, which is the parent company of E car, who lives within close proximity to the County Ground and is a regular visitor to the club, was upbeat about the new deal.
"We are delighted to be involved with Somerset County Cricket Club in this way and look forward to the team being even more successful in the 2009 season, when our logo will be on the front of their championship shirts."
Partnership
Somerset chief executive Richard Gould commented: "E car are an online insurance company in addition to which they run a number of other insurance companies within the group.
"We are delighted to welcome them as our new championship shirt sponsors for 2009 and look forward to our partnership with them being mutually beneficial."
