Bath Symphony Orchestra get sponsorship backing from Rotork Controls
Rotork Controls Ltd. and the Bath Symphony Orchestra have announced Rotork's sponsorship of the orchestra for the 2007-2008 season, starting with a concert in the Guildhall this month and continuing with concerts in March and June.
With grants from the Arts Council and B&NES no longer available the orchestra relies on financial support from local companies and individuals, as well as fundraising and players' subscriptions.
Rotork, a successful major international engineering company headquartered in Bath, was formed by Bath-based inventor and businessman, the late Jeremy Fry, and has recently celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. The company now manufactures and sells industry-leading valve automation, principally to the oil and gas, power and water markets in developing and developed economies worldwide.
"We believe in the importance of supporting local organisations and causes", said Rotork's CEO Bill Whiteley. "The Bath Symphony Orchestra plays an important role in encouraging local talent and we are pleased to be associated with them" .
