Following its participation in the successful Colorado Ski Challenge in the early part of this year, brand identity company Artis has thrown its full support behind the White Peaks Ski and Board Challenge in Austria in 2007.
2007 will be the ninth year that Scope has organised the White Peaks Challenge, with over 850 people now having taken part and £1.5 million having been raised. Scope is looking to attract 150 skiers and boarders onto the 2007 Challenge to bring the total number of White Peaks Challengers to the 1,000 mark, and the charity aims to raise over £250,000 from the event.
This is the UK's largest charity ski and board event and it has been central to Scope's fundraising activities through adventure-based events since 1999.
To date the ski and boarding activities have raised £1.77 million and, with the support that Artis is putting behind this event, Scope is aiming to break the £2 million barrier.
"Most of us who are involved with business are instinctively competitive individuals, so it's hardly surprising that an activity event with a difference is likely to appeal to the sports-minded amongst us", enthused Stephen Read, Joint Managing Director of Artis Projects Ltd.
"It's a great way of doing something that you may not otherwise do whilst raising money for a great cause. It's a perfect win-win situation", he added.
Scope is the charity that helps people with cerebral palsy and it was the first national charity to promote event-based fundraising when it organised a bike ride in Israel in 1996.
