The 2007 Leicester Comedy Festival - which boasts a position as the longest-running comedy show in the UK - will take place between 9th and 18th February.
The launch show, taking place on Friday 19th January, is being sponsored by De Montfort University. This Preview Show will be hosted by Jason Byrne and confirmed acts include Russell Howard, Rhod Gilbert, Topping & Butch, Shappi Khorsandi, Jim Smallman, Arnab Chanda and Count Arthur Strong.
The main programme for the 2007 Festival includes Russell Brand, Jimmy Carr, Paul Merton and 2006 if.comeddie nominees David O'Doherty and We Are Klang! The programme will feature a diverse range of performances in venues created specially for the Festival. Rooms above pubs, restaurants, student unions and galleries will be transformed for the ten days and open their doors to up and coming acts from across the UK.
