Canon has a long history of high profile sports sponsorships stretching back over 30 years and it has selected to continue its support for the spectacular sport of track cycling. It has already supported four UCI Track Cycling World Cups in the UK.
Canon's regional Business Centre based in the north west is supplying a range of high-end mono and colour printing equipment to the event, allowing all race results of the high-speed, high-drama races to be captured, distributed and viewed by race organisers and the general public.
"Increasing our brand profile and contributing to the communities in which we operate are both important factors when it comes to deciding how to plan our sponsorship activities" said Andy Vickers, Managing Director, Canon UK and Ireland. "Canon globally supports high profile sports events and cycling fits perfectly with our global philosophy of 'Kyosei' - living and working together for the common good and we look forward to being back at the World Championships."
Event organiser Alan Rushton believes that Canon is an

important partner in the task of running a world class event: "The whole world will be watching this event", he says, "and it's crucial that we have the best support and equipment and Canon gives us both."
Tickets are still on sale for what will no doubt be the biggest and toughest event on the cycling track calendar for 2008. The five day event programme promises action from day one on Wednesday, 26th March, with the Great Britain team defending the seven world crowns they won in Palma, Mallorca last year. Tickets for Saturday, 29th March have already sold out.
