Sponsorship of this fundraising exhibition for a Nepalese arts centre could open doors at the highest level
This autumn (2008) a dynamic exhibition is coming to Piccadilly, when the Kathmandu Arts Centre presents Khula Dhoka/the Open Door exhibition. The works of 108 artists will be on show, from Turner Prize winner Richard Long to important Nepalese artists hitherto unknown in the west.
The excellence and vitality of contemporary Nepalese art, with its fusion of contemporary and traditional, has recently begun to attract global attention, transcending national and political barriers. This outstanding exhibition will be a major contribution to the eleventh Asian Art in London (AAL) week - in recognition of which they have made the Kathmandu Arts Centre their charity of the year. AAL is a major international art event, attracting thousands of people annually to London and over a million visitors to its website (http://www.asianartinlondon.com/). The Open Door exhibition will launch the main fundraising appeal for the Kathmandu Arts Centre, a ground-breaking project to build a world class arts centre in Nepal. With the support of the British Council, a UK registered charity was set up in October 2007 to raise money to build it (see http://www.kathmanduarts.org). KAC patrons include Britain's best known climber, Sir Chris Bonington CBE, and Chairman of the Art Fund and former Chairman of Tate, David Verey CBE. Potential sponsors will access international exposure via publicity and branding, high level networking opportunities and corporate hospitality opportunities. Further information about the Khula Dhoka exhibition sponsorship proposal is available on request.
