Que Pasa? magazine takes steps to attract partners for UK World Salsa Championship

There has never been a better time for this competition! Why? Because Latin culture is one of the fastest growing trends in the UK.

The popular television series Strictly Come Dancing has prompted a return to the dance floor and as one of the most accessible, fun and sexy dances, Salsa is quickly becoming a national favourite dance sport. The UK World Salsa Championship (UK-WSCH) is a three-day event organised by Que Pasa? Magazine Online (the leading UK based information source established in 1998 covering the Latin world entertainment scene, with particular emphasis on Latin music and dance), in association with the World Salsa Federation, the recognised world governing body for Salsa competition with corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida.

The competition is likely to take place on Summer 2008, with two divisions, professional and amateur competitors dancing in four styles (Cuban, L.A., N.Y/Puerto Rican and Colombian). It is anticipated that up to one hundred entrants from all over the world will participate, with around 2,000 spectators. Couples and teams from all over the world will compete at Crystal Palace Arena.

The magazine would like to encourage potential sponsors to have a look at their website - at www.quepasamagazine.com - for more information about their organisation and the website of the joint hosts, www.worldsalsafederation.com.

The programme structure will be as follows:

Friday - competition for all entrants.
    Saturday - semi-finals.
    Sunday - finals.
Prizes - 1st: Trophy and £1,500 prize money. 2nd: Trophy and £1,000 prize money. 3rd: Trophy and £700 prize money.
Prizes - Amateur - 1st: Trophy and £700 prize money. 2nd: Trophy and £500 prize money. 3rd: Trophy and £300 prize money.

One or two orchestras will be engaged over the three days, supported by three DJs. Consolation prizes, yet to be identified, will be given to the runners-up.

Marketing. The organisers will be working with their partner, the World Salsa Federation, to make this an extremely high-profile event. 4,000 posters and 20,000 flyers will be distributed to Latin clubs and bars around the country. Press releases will be issued and contactmade with television stations, radio stations and newspapers for coverage. The organisers will also advertise online via their own website, the World Salsa Federation website and other major Latin websites.

Sponsors and partners The event will have the support of American Airlines, Corona Beer and Mercado Bar Canteen Mexican Restaurant. The World Salsa Federation has outstanding experience in organising highly successful championships for many years now. The organisers are currently inviting other companies to become involved in this exciting event. The World Cup Salsa Championships offers an opportunity to target hundreds of people who share an active passion for Latin events.

Partnership can be flexible, total or partial.
