Blind Sailing is a charity set up to enable all visually impaired sailors to get out on the water. The charity tries to cater for all - from the young to the old, from the beginner to the experienced racer. It also provides advice to those who have recently lost their sight or to clubs with visually impaired sailors looking to join. The charity also supports the British Blind Sailing Team, helping to fund their attendance at events and to hold their own events. To date the team has had great success, becoming World Champions twice. Later this year, in Rhode Island, USA, the British Blind Sailing Team are looking to defend the World Champion title they achieved in Italy. However, they need the help of sponsors to be able to send the three teams of different sight categories, two sighted and two visually impaired on each team, to the USA. Currently the team are funding their own training and also work hard to raise the money for the events in which they compete. Through hard training they have developed strong communication and show tremendous commitment to their sailing. The team will be delighted to take part in photo opportunities with sponsors and will happily wear a uniform bearing the sponsor's logo. They will promote the sponsor's company as best they can whilst competing in the World Championships during 2006. Hopefully this brief information has given potentail sponsors an insight into what the team hopes to achieve. More information is available via the contact shown or from the charity's website. "If you can see some way how your company may assist us with the funding we need to be able to send a competitive team to the next World Championships this would be greatly appreciated".
