THE SKY ORCHESTRA'S HIGH-FLYING PERFORMANCES SHOULD BE MUSIC TO THE EARS OF SPONSORS
The Sky Orchestra is a vast, sensational, internationally touring performance artwork - a spectacular musical flying event that delivers an intimate and personal experience to a dreaming public.

Seven hot air balloons take off at dawn, playing music developed specifically for the sleeping people below. A massive audio landscape is created on the ground as the balloons drift through the sky. Working in collaboration with the Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones, the artistic director of The Sky Orchestra, is the established international artist Luke Jerram.

To date The Sky Orchestra has performed in Bristol 2003, Birmingham 2004 and, last year, in Yverdon (Switzerland), launching arts festivals and the 2005 year of science. In 2006, The Sky Orchestra will perform for the RSC in Stratford and in Middlesbrough to launch their new public square. The Sky Orchestra has also been shortlisted for the Channel 4 Big Art commission.

They are currently in negotiations with the Sydney festival and other international venues for performances in 2007. All the performances have incited incredible enthusiasm and excitement from the public. Whole families have been seen squeezing out of Velux windows and grown men have run out of their houses wrapped in a towel to listen to the symphony and watch the balloons drift over their homes. Making national headline news the story and imagery of the orchestra's performances have spread around the globe from Vietnam to Canada. The BBC has covered The Sky Orchestra's UK performances extensively.

As the project is so highly visible, this is an ideal opportunity for a sponsor to gain valuable time on screen by having their logo displayed on the balloon eenvelopes or baskets. In addition, audio equipment can be demonstrated by the quality of sounds produced in the air. Sponsors to date have included Sony Centre UK, IKEA and JVC.
