SPONSORS PROMISED TOP BILLING, AS KINOFILM GOES ON THE ROAD
Manchester International Short Film Festival is fast approaching its tenth anniversary, the event scheduled to take place from 24th February to 5th March, 2006.

Over the past decade, Kinofilm has developed a worldwide reputation for its innovative and imaginative programming, and is proud to have given early exposure to such talents as Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers), Damien O'Donnell (East is East) and Lynne Ramsey (Ratcatcher), amongst others. Ten years on and the organisers are preparing to celebrate a decade of Kinofilm, with a pre-festival mobile tour, using Ireland's unique mobile Cinemobile.

Now, courtesy of Kinofilm, the Cinemobile will come to mainland UK for the first time, touring the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, taking short film to all sectors of the community. The truck is professionally kitted out with both 35mm and digital video projection facilities. In each district the tour will include an element of locally produced short films from student and community filmmakers suitable for children and family audiences. There'll be filmmaking and animation demonstrations by young professional filmmakers, too.

Kino's target audience is 18 to 35s, encompassing a range of multicultural backgrounds - this is encouraged by Kino's special diversity strand, BlueFiRe!.

Kinofilm is currently seeking sponsorship for this exciting event, and a range of other opportunities for the tenth anniversary Kinofilm Festival, with various rates and benefits. "Don't miss out on being associated with the festival and bringing your product to the minds and imagination of our young, diverse and open-minded audience", say the organisers. "Come and join us in what promises to be the best and biggest showcase of short films Manchester and the North West has ever seen".

There'll be lots of exciting events, collaborations with other international festivals, special retrospective programmes exploring a decade of Kino shorts and cult movies (which - as many kinoites know - is where the festival started), and there'll even be a few new features thrown in. There'll be lots happening and some very special guests attending this year's event, plus networking events, directors' spotlights and parties every night of the week.
