ARC SEEKS SPONSORS WHO CARE TO HELP THEM GIVE NEW HOMES TO ANIMALS
ARC (Anglia Rehabilitation Centre) is an animal rehabilitation and rescue organisation which has the motto "Quality of Life".
ARC promotes responsible pet ownership, including training, correct feeding, appropriate exercise, appropriate housing and informing people of the importance of regular worming and vaccinations. The organisation only rehabilitates using kind and positive methods and takes each animal and works with its nature, not against it. ARC is looking for sponsorship from companies which they can recommend to their adopters, clients and students. A small but busy rescue and re-homing centre, ARC has a non-destruction policy. Any animal which is unable to be rehomed is kept by ARC for the rest of its natural life.
Anglia Rehabilitation Centre takes in all species - large, small, exotic and rare - as well as the usual small mammals. At the moment it has horses, camelids, rare breed sheep, chinchillas, parrots, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and dogs. ARC also has a waiting list of animals waiting to come in when funds allow. Unfortunately, the organisation also gets many animals dumped overnight on the doorstep or tied to its gate; these animals are never turned away and are helped back to health and re-homed if possible.
All sponsors will be named in ARC handouts, and also advertised on its transport and on site. ARC is happy to accept goods as well as money donations and a list of what is required is available upon request. ARC has been working quietly but consistently for the past 25 years, helping animals and people who want to keep an animal properly. However, the rescue side of things is growing faster than ever before. This is why they are now asking for sponsorship. Manager Susan Knights has always worked to support ARC, as an Animal Behaviourist and Trainer. She has lectured and given demonstrations around the country. She travels to wherever she is asked asked to go, to help with any animal: doing this may mean that the animal in question will not end up in a re-homing centre, if ARC can sort out the problem. As more animals are taken in, less time is available to work for the money to support them.
Unfortunately, more and more animals nowadays are exhibiting serious behavioural problems, and people find it easier to get rid of the problem and buy another animal. Sorting out behavioural problems is not a 'quick fix' situation - to achieve this goal properly and with kindness takes time. Animals which are sick or old just need a vet and TLC. All animals which are left with ARC get lots of TLC.
