The Manchester Craft & Design Centre boasts a position as the largest provider of studio/retail space and support for designer-makers in the north west of England.
Manchester Craft & Design's aims are: (i) to provide workspace, facilities and support services for designer-makers; (ii) to foster an environment that encourages creativity, innovation and excellence; (iii) to encourage opportunities for designer makers through joint marketing initiatives, press and publicity and a city centre retail environment; and (iv) to promote and increase the interest of the public in contemporary craft and design through exhibitions, workshops and open studios.
Manchester Craft & Design Centre comprises sixteen retail/studio spaces, a café and a regularly changing programme of exhibitions of work from national and international designer-makers.
Sponsorship opportunities exist to become a partner in support of the following projects.
Project 1
Greater Manchester Craft & Design Award Selection of the best designers/makers resident or working in Greater Manchester to be exhibited at the Craft and Design Centre. The winner will be offered free studio space for 1 year plus a support 'grant' to enable the maker to develop their work over that period.
Project 2
IT/Computer resource for use by designer/makers
A computer resource including use of computers, design packages, printing/fax/copying and internet facilities. (Some financial support has already been provided by North West Development Agency).
Project 3
Development of a series of exhibitions at the centre Establishing a series of high quality exhibitions with a national remit. (Some financial support has already been provided by North West Development Agency).
