BEAST RACING HAS THE FORMULA TO DRIVE SPONSORS' SUCCESS
BEAST Racing is entering two Porsche Carrera GT3s in the 2004 Michelin Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the country’s fastest one-make championship and an integral part of the British Touring Cars Championship (BTCC) and TOCA Tour programme. Over 130,000 spectators watched the eight rounds of the BTCC in TOCA Tour last year.
The TOCA Tour includes leading UK championship rounds for BTCC, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Formula Seat and Formula Renault. Race meetings are held at the UK’s major circuits including Brands Hatch and Silverstone from April to September. ITV1 has confirmed live coverage of the Championship and Motors TV will continue its coverage for Sky.
The BEAST Racing team includes leading drivers Richard Westbrook, who finished second in the 2003 Cup and David Pinkney, a ‘veteran’ race winner. Porsche racing expert Dafyd Richards has joined as Chief Engineer having worked successfully with Westbrook last season when guiding Team BCR to team championship honours. Directing the team is Taurus Sports’ managing director Ian Dawson, who has over thirty years’ motorsport experience including F1 and World Sportscar racing. Founding consortium member Propeller Design created all BEAST branding and is promoting BEAST through the media and to potential sponsors.
Interest in BEAST has increased considerably, we are told, since its launch was first featured on BBC TV. The combination of team talent, experience, the excellent support and performance facilities at Taurus Sports and good media exposure seems to provide the ideal formula for BEAST Racing success.
