THE PAINTBALL ASSOCIATION CAN HIT THE TARGET FOR SPONSORS
Paintball is one of the largest growing mass participation sports in the UK and the Paintball Association is currently organising the Paintball Association National League 2004 that will run from March to August with one event every month, culminating in the PA Cup in October 2004.
The aims and philosophy of the Paintball Association are very much to improve the standards and professionalism of the sport of competitive paintball by introducing new procedures by which the league is run and establishing a body of independent referees for the first time in paintball history. The Paintball Association National League invites paintball teams to play under their town name and compete against other towns in divisions to accumulate points and win prize money.
The association has already secured support from within the paintball industry and are in the process of attracting further support from external companies who are looking to either enter the market place or raise awareness of their brand within the sector. The Paintball Association League is the only national league in the UK and is already attracting a great deal of media attention. In August 2003, the Paintball Association Cup secured backing from companies such as William Hill and the News of the World, alongside other regional and national press and various radio stations and was even featured on the BBC’s They Think It’s All Over. By supporting the 2004 League, sponsors would be provided with both the perfect medium for gaining brand awareness within the sector and the opportunity to introduce their products to a captive audience.
The Paintball Association League will be covered by PBUK magazine, which is the main paintball magazine in the UK and has a wide circulation to both tournament and recreational players, along with being distributed to every UK Paintball Sports Federation trade member and paintball retail outlet in the UK. PBUK magazine will cover every event of the Paintball Association League in depth and will offer sponsors of the event unprecedented opportunities for promotion within the paintball sector. The Paintball Association is also looking to help the sport attract more media attention by combining the resources of every player involved.
Team Managers will be targeting regional businesses to gain sponsorship as well as local media to gain promotion for the team, at the same time as the Paintball Association itself is contacting national sponsors and media. The association has already secured support from within the paintball industry and is in the process of attracting further support from external companies who are looking to either enter the market place or raise awareness of their brand within the sector.
