He has joined forces with experienced co-driver Alyson Marlow to contest the Peugeot 206 Super Cup and the pair believe the combination of youth and experience will prove a successful formula on the stages this year. The opportunity realises a childhood ambition for Paul and has been achieved following a long-term association with the UK's most accredited Peugeot dealer, Simon Bailes.
MD Simon Bailes comments: "I am delighted that Paul will compete in the 206 Super Cup and wish him every success. We look forward to keeping his car in show stopping condition so hopefully he can follow in the footsteps of World Rally champions Richard Burns and Colin McRae, who are previous young Peugeot drivers."
Following a couple of impressive results in the AS Performance-backed 1300 Nova on selected local single venue events, Paul feels he has now bridged the gap between autotesting and stage rallying and after taking delivery of his new Peugeot 206 he's raring to go. Co-driving will be South coast based Alyson Marlow who has been competing at the highest levels for the last ten years, including seven Network Q rallies. She was a works Peugeot co-driver on the 2001 World Cup Rally which saw her
and driver Barbara Armstrong finish an impressive second overall on the 11,000km trek to the Sahara and back - and last year she joined forces with Canadian rally champion Pat Richard for the 206 Super Cup and the Network Q rally.
Their first event is the Wrexham-based Rally of Wales which is set to provide a challenging debut for the pair at the end of March. The series then follows the Pirelli British Rally Championship series from Kielder to Scotland, the Borders, Ulster, Yorkshire and Hampshire.
