PROJECT CALLIOPE OFFERS CLASSIC OPPORTUNITIES TO SPONSOR COURSES IN GREEK DRAMA
Project Calliope is a non-profit making organisation, specialising in theatre courses for participants from age sixteen.
Established in 2000, the first courses were run in the summer of 2001, with great success, at Ancient Epidavros, Greece. There the first participants rehearsed and performed a classical Greek text, in English, to great acclaim. Plays by Euripides, Sophocles and Aristophanes have been presented to local audiences, and the organisation has attracted participants from all over the world.
The project is designed to bring the joy and excitement of the performance of classical works in an original setting to as many people, young and not so young, as possible. To achieve this aim, a professional Artistic Director is hired to lead the production, with an Assistant, for the duration of the courses. Throughout the courses, one of the Project Directors is in attendance, to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Sponsorship opportunities in connection with the courses are now available.
