Social Worker of the Year Awards - support the supporters and be seen to reward their many outstanding achievements
The Social Worker of the Year Awards are about recognising the excellent, diverse work that takes place in the profession and celebrating the many outstanding achievements of social workers across England.
The awards were established in 2006 by independent practitioner Beverley Williams and relaunched in 2011 as a registered charity, with a unique awards event at the House of Lords on 16th December.
Over 170 social workers, judges, directors of service and sponsors enjoyed a live debate about the profession, followed by the presentation of awards and a reception in one of the Palace of Westminster's most prestigious rooms overlooking the River Thames.
The awards have grown remarkably in stature in just twelve months, winning support from social workers, directors of children's and adult services in local authorities and from a wide number of influential figures, including Professor Eileen Munro and the Secretary of State for Education, The Right Honourable Michael Gove MP.
"Our aim is to see them grow further, achieving a status as recognisable as the National Teaching Awards and your support is fundamental to this achievement. In 2012, we have an attractive sponsorship opportunity to enable you to associate your business or organisation with the awards scheme for the social work profession.
"Please do speak to us soon to find out more about our exciting plans for the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2012 and whether you can join with us in celebrating the success of our remarkable profession".
