Llandudno Sailing Club canvasses sponsors to come on board with support for their 50th anniversary celebrations

Llandudno Sailing Club is well established in the dinghy racing world as a venue for national and regional championships.

In 2012 the club will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the modern dinghy club. Previously the club had existed from the 1860s till World War One. It was revived in 1962.

Sponsorship opportunities in 2012

  •   Topper Training and Regional Qualifier - Saturday, 30th June/Sunday, 1st July
   - a repeat event after a successful first visit in 2010; a Junior class with many potential sailors in the fleet.

  •   Supernova National Championship - Friday, 13th to Sunday, 15th July
   - some fifty-plus boats are expected to take part in this, the major event of the club season; the Supernovas are returning having had an excellent championship in 2010.

  •   Albacore Northern Championship and GP14 Welsh Championship - Saturday/Sunday 29th/30th September
   - a combined event with two popular dinghy classes; the Albacores held their Nationals in 2010 and the GP14 class are regular visitors to the club.

  •   Sail Training Programme - April to July 2012
   - the club recently became a RYA Recognised Training Centre; a full programme of courses for all age groups is promoted each year and consists of

* Club Juniors - weekly sessions throughout the season; courses introduce beginners, improve intermediate sailors and introduce the more skilful to racing

* Adults - six week courses aimed at RYA Level Two

* Sea Cadets - a special session aiding the local Conwy Sea Cadet Corps with sail training

* Conwy Education Department - 5 x 60 scheme introducing school children to sailing.

Assistance is sought with offsetting the costs of fuel and instructors' fees.
