Sponsorship of new West End musical revue A Bowl of Cherries is sure to bear fruit in terms of major media promotion
A Bowl of Cherries is a musical revue that looks at life through a cycle of plays and songs.
This is observed by two theatre ghosts from the last war, Penny Riddle and Albert Farthing, who are trapped between this world and the next.
The humorous and thought-provoking book is written by Carolyn Pertwee, with music from Ivor Novello Award-winning David Martin, songwriter of Can't Smile Without You.
The plays and songs illustrate different aspects of life's bitter sweet experiences and take us on a journey from the cradle to the grave. Albert is tired of being in limbo and wants to move on, but is held back by Penny, who is in denial, believing she is still alive and waiting for her big theatrical moment. Their story unfolds through the evening, weaving in and out of the events contained in A Bowl of Cherries, concluding with their own dramatic denouement.
This thoroughly entertaining revue is performed by eight versatile actors and musicians, and is devised and directed by Olivier Award-nominated Andrew C Wadsworth. The songs and plays are instantly accessible as they chart life's familiar dilemmas. A Bowl of Cherries has something for everyone.
"We are launching the premiere of the musical at the Charing Cross Theatre - www.charingcrosstheatre.co.uk - in the West End of London in March 2012 for a four week run.
"We are looking for a sponsor. We think a company producing any cherry products like liquors, brandy and chocolates would be perfect for this. The theatre has a very buzzy bar/restaurant - we could promote their products at the VIP party on the first night and their logo could be on all our promotional material, including posters, flyers, programmes and websites. The show will be marketed by Jo Hutchison International - www.johutchison.com - and Mel Brown from Impressive PR - www.impressivepr.com/index/about-us/impressive-pr - will be doing the TV and magazine promotion.
"The star of the show will be a leading lady (yet to be cast). She will be beautiful, glamorous and a talented singer, dancer and actress. Her style will be 1940s musical theatre - she could well be the next face of a perfume or beauty product brand and would be a wonderful image with which to promote your company".
