With sponsors onboard, Bear Trap's award-winning production is Bound to storm back into the headlines

Bound, by Bear Trap Theatre Company, premiered to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival 2010.

Following a short London run at the Pleasance Islington, it then went on to headline the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2011.

Awards include Fringe First, Herald Angel, Herald Little Devil, NSDF and Methuen Drama Emerging Artists Competition, Holden Street Theatres Award, Adelaide Advertiser Critics Choice Award and Best Theatre Performer (Ensemble).

Bound is currently on a national tour of England and Ireland and will return to London for a month's run at Southwark Playhouse on 28th September. Bear Trap are planning a second national tour commencing in February 2012.

Bound follows six trawlermen from the south west fishing port of Brixham as they embark on one final voyage. Compelled by the threat of bankruptcy, fishing trawler 'The Violet' and its mismatched crew are forced out into treacherous weather, battling each other's egos, their 'lives' ashore and a relentless storm. Will they lose more than a way of life? Bound is a bracingly physical tragic comedy, interwoven with beautiful traditional folk songs and rousing sea shanties. Using a bold innovative approach, Bound investigates the effects of a modern demise on a traditional industry.

Bear Trap is one of the leading emerging young theatre companies in the UK. They produce vibrant new work through a blend of new writing, devising, movement and song. Crafting bold stories with heart, Bear Trap interrogates real drama with classical storytelling and inventive design. The company was formed in 2010 by Artistic Directors Jesse Briton and Joe Darke, graduates of East 15's acclaimed Contemporary Theatre course.

Bear Trap is seeking sponsorship for their four week run of Bound at Southwark Playhouse in London from the 28th September - 8th October and/or for their second national tour in February 2012.
