Eventful Border Crossings festival offers a whole world of inspirational opportunitiesOrigins Festival of First Nations 2011 returns to London for a second time, bringing a talented and inspirational set of artists of first nation peoples from Canada, America, New Zealand and Australia.Their stories and performances provide a unique view on globalisation and a different interpretation on what living with your environment means.
The programme includes theatre from Australia and US (The Noel Tovey Story and Walking on Turtle Island), exhibitions from Canada and New Zealand artists (The Edward Curtis Project, George Nuku and Rosanna Raymond), music from the US, New Zealand, Australia, West Papua, Canada (Kelvin Mockingbird, Pacific Curls, Lani Singers, Elisapie Isaac), films, talks, comedy (Chuquai Billy), workshops (Marie Clements), a waka (war canoe) on the Thames, a powhiri celebration and concert on Hampstead Heath (Family Day) and an accompanying Participation and Learning project around Maori heritage. It is being organised in partnership with the City of London Festival, which has an Antipodean theme for 2011.

The participants for the Festival will include thirty-seven artists and over 200 contributors and volunteers drawn from youth and community groups, plus London schools.
Audiences will be able to view the festival's activities at Rich Mix in east London, Thames Embankment, Hampstead Heath and at story-telling venues at Woodbridge in Suffolk and Matlock in Derbyshire.
