Ballare: To Dance offers a medley of classical sponsorship opportunities on a global scaleBallare: To Dance is a concert that brings together world class musicians, with moving visual images, to celebrate internationalism and the forthcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2012.
The concert has been devised by the composer, Philip Herbert, and Pawlet Brookes, creative producer and mentor.
Both are passionate about taking the audience on a voyage across the African diaspora, Argentina, Cuba, India, Mexico and Spain through a colourful sound world of classical music scores with strong world music flavours, which connect with international dance traditions.
Benefit
In amongst these are two new works to be composed by Philip Herbert. The musicians are Timescale Ensemble (soloists of London Symphony Orchestras) along with World music instrumentalists, including solo steel pan, sitar, tabla, guitar, bandoneon and voices.
This concert is to be toured and will enjoy huge public benefit through tourism and the publicity campaign approaching the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Serendipity, the organisation which is producing the event, has already found £17,500 towards meeting the sponsorship costs of this project.
Another £63,400 is needed to enable the project to go ahead.
