Eventful new student film festival Watersprite has its focus on sponsorshipWatersprite is the new student film festival set in the University of Cambridge.
Its focus is on accessibility (hence it is free) and excellence (it has BAFTA helping with two of its events, as well as contributions already from Bill Nighy, Sir David Hare and Tim Bevan).
"Now in our second year, we aim to build bridges between new film-makers and the professional industry.
Initiative
"We have a competition to identify and reward talent, and the festival itself incorporates events to educate, help nurture creative partnership and entertain.
"The winning short from our first year (Who's Afraid of the Water Sprite?) is being made into a feature film as a direct result of being at the festival, so we have proved that this can work. We believe that our generation should take the initiative to help build the future of the film industry.
"Our submission calls will be going out to over a million students worldwide and we are aiming for over 2,000 attendees over the weekend of the festival. Please see the proposal for more details, or contact us".
