I Fagiolini Charitable Trust releases record Renaissance opportunities to music sponsors
I Fagiolini Charitable Trust (IFCT) is passionate about Renaissance music.
It is currently raising money to support a recording of a quite unique, recently found, lost choral work from 1566 for 40-60 voices (about ten times the size of most Renaissance choral music) by Alessandro Striggio.
The work, which was taken to England and probably inspired Tallis's Spem in alium, will be recorded by vocal group I Fagiolini and a host of the world's best Renaissance players (cornetts, sackbuts, viols, double reeds, lutes, harp).
Releasing such a recording with an international label will gain a lot of press attention.
The costs are near £90,000 for that number of performers; but over two-thirds of this has already been raised. IFCT is now looking for a total of £25,000 sponsorship to enable this exciting project to go ahead.
