Missing People charity widens its search for sponsorship supportMissing People provides support for missing children, vulnerable adults and families left in limbo.
The charity offers families of the missing specialist advice and practical support as well as searching - securing publicity that could end years of heartache. Missing People relies on donations from individuals and companies in order to provide its services and reunite families.
This year the organisation offers a new opportunity: to sponsor a phone and help the charity to provide hope and support to children like Sam.
Sam ran away to escape his father's constant abuse. He was alone in a phone box late at night when he contacted Missing People. Sam said that no one cared, that he had nowhere to go and that he wanted to hurt himself. With sponsors' help, Missing People will be there for every desperate caller like Sam.
In return, Missing People will provide
the sponsor's name or company logo on www.missingpeople.org.uk (50,000 visitors a month)
a recognition plaque at Missing People HQ
recognition in supporter communications
PR activity throughout the campaign
a 'Thank you' letter from Sir Trevor McDonald.
"Most importantly", they say, "you will receive a full update of who your company has helped. We have a range of other opportunities to support our work, from sponsorship of our flagship running event, spaces for your company's team at the Virgin London Marathon, to getting your company to take on a challenge for the charity; or it might be as simple as setting up a payroll giving scheme at your work or even recycling your old mobile phones.
"We also need volunteers throughout the year across the charity, so, whatever time and skills you have, we'd love to hear from you. Whatever you, or your company, do it will ensure our phones are there 24 hours a day to help young people like Sam".
