As an emerging playwright usually producing his own plays, this has been a great year for Stephen M. Hunt!

Actability Inclusive Theatre commissioned a play from Stephen for their company of learning disabled and non-learning disabled actors. Consequently, Actability previewed Problem Day (his play with song and dance - but not a full-blown musical) at The Hume Theatre, Bishops Stortford, on the 8th November, 2008.

Problem Day will be Actability's community piece for next year and their touring piece the following year.

Hildegard Neil, Royal Shakespeare Company actor and international star of film, TV and theatre, headed the cast in another of Stephen's plays and has also agreed to tour with it next year.

Ben Onwukwe, another Royal Shakespeare Company actor who made his name as Recall in the hit LWT drama serial London's Burning, co-starred with Hildegard Neil in Impossible Steps. "Rosalind Blessed (daughter of Brian Blessed) has just joined the cast of the play we're touring next year with Hildegard Neil", says Stephen.

Brian Blessed has said of this same play: "... terrific, original, great writing, a major work ...". Recent reviews of this same work include: "... so satisfying, this fiercely intelligent play ...", Hearsay Magazine; "... the best new play I've seen in ages ...", British Theatre; "... deliciously disorientating ...", Extra! Extra!.

Stephen's earlier work was assessed as: "... neatly conceived ... inventive in character and theme ...", Royal Court; "... original, surprising and engaging at every turn ... theatre is the only place for it ...", Soho Theatre.

"The first venue to welcome in our touring play for next year is the Rhodes Arts Complex, Bishops Stortford", adds Stephen. "From May last year to September this year, I have personally financed productions of my work in the following London fringe venues: SourFeast Theatre, The Brockley Jack Theatre and The Rosemary Branch Theatre.

"I am looking for sponsorship to facilitate our tour next year of my play Impossible Steps, starring Hildegard Neil and Rosalind Blessed".
