PwC Isle of Man continues sponsorship of Manx Hockey Leagues
PwC Isle of Man is continuing its long-running sponsorship of the Manx Hockey Association (MHA) for the forthcoming season.
The sponsorship covers several of the leagues that come under the MHA's umbrella - Ladies, Men's, Mixed Under-16, Junior 11s and Junior 13s, and most recently the Summer 6s.
Tim Leeming, Chairman of the Manx Hockey Association said: "The sponsorship provided by PwC forms an integral part of our funding for the junior and senior leagues.
"It helps us develop our core principles - to provide a healthy and safe environment for players of all ages to learn and develop within the sport to achieve their full potential, and to ensure that wherever possible personal finances do not impact on the ability of any junior player to reach their personal goal within the sport. There are more than 1,000 hockey players in the Isle of Man, so it's a real community sport.
"It's our hope that Great Britain's success at the Olympic Games in Rio this summer, in particular the women's hockey team winning gold, will inspire even more people, across all age groups, to take up the sport".
Paul Jones, Assurance Director at PwC Isle of Man, said: "We have many members of staff who play hockey, including some who have played for the national side, and others who coach teams, and it's an important part of our ethos to support staff in their pursuits outside work.
"We believe people who play sports possess many of the skills that reinforce success in the workplace, such as knowing how to perform well under pressure, understanding the value of effort, and the ability to communicate, cooperate and lead".
