Football League strengthens commercial team
The Football League has made two senior additions to its Commercial team with the appointment of Ben Wright to the position of Commercial Director and Drew Barrand to the position of Marketing Director.
Wright (below) joins The Football League from Wasserman Media Group where he is Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Business Development.
Previously, he was Head of Commercial at Tottenham Hotspur for five years and has also held the position of Sponsorship Manager at The Football Association and Brand Manager at Carlsberg Tetley.
Barrand (below), a former Sports Editor of Marketing magazine and Deputy Editor of SportBusiness, joins the League from sports marketing agency Pitch, where he is an Associate Director with experience of delivering marketing campaigns for FIFA, UEFA and LOCOG.
In welcoming Barrand and Wright to their new roles, Football League Chief Executive Shaun Harvey said: "I am delighted to welcome two experienced executives with proven track records in the sports industry to The Football League. I very much look forward to working with both of them.
"We have an important period ahead of us and the appointments of Drew and Ben complete a restructuring of our commercial operation that will enable us to meet the challenges of the future so that we can generate greater levels of income for our clubs".
Ben Wright, the new Commercial Director of The Football League, said: "This is a really exciting opportunity and I look forward to working closely with Football League clubs and the League's existing partners, as well as identifying new opportunities for commercial growth".
Drew Barrand, the new Marketing Director of The Football League, said: "I am thrilled to be joining The Football League at such an important time in its development. The marketing potential of the League is significant and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead."
