Mulberry announces sponsorship of the ICA for 2014
British luxury brand Mulberry has become a sponsor of the Institute for Contemporary Arts (ICA) for 2014.
The new partnership comes two years after Mulberry sponsored the inaugural Frieze New York in 2012.
The ICA supports radical art and culture through a vibrant programme of exhibitions, films, events, talks and debates. Mulberry say they are delighted to be able to support the ICA and work on interesting and diverse projects for customers and followers to enjoy.
The first activity as part of this sponsorship has seen Mulberry as title supporter of the Richard Hamilton Exhibition, which launched on Tuesday, 11th February, running to April. For decades the most continually innovative of British artists, London-born Richard Hamilton (1922-2011) was widely regarded as a founding figure of pop art. The ICA presents two installations, Man, Machine and Motion (1955) and an Exhibit (1957) by Richard Hamilton to coincide with Tate Modern's retrospective.
Anne-Marie Verdin, Mulberry Brand Director, said: "Mulberry is pleased to announce a new partnership with the ICA and to support their 2014 programme.
"Since 1971 Mulberry has a rich history of collaborating with talented and creative people, and we believe strongly in the growing fusion of fashion and art today. We are particularly delighted to be able to work with the ICA on their programme developing young artists - the industry's future talents".
Gregor Muir, Executive Director ICA, was equally upbeat: "The ICA is delighted to celebrate Mulberry's sponsorship of its exhibition 'Richard Hamilton at the ICA'. Both the ICA and Mulberry share a dynamic legacy and a passion for contemporary art, fashion and design. Working together our combined enthusiasm for creative excellence will play a key role in promoting artistic talent".
