Flag's down on Liberty Mutual Insurance motor racing sponsorship
Liberty Mutual Insurance (LMI), the commercial lines division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe Limited (LMIE), and part of the Global Specialty unit of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, is under starter's orders for the third year of its motor racing sponsorship programme with five drivers and teams now on its grid.
Two months after the company became the Official Insurance Partner for the Test Match Grounds for 2013, Sam Brabham, grandson of Sir Jack Brabham, has taken pole position in LMIE's motor racing sponsorship programme for 2013.
He is joined by young karting star Toby Sowery, who moves up to single-seater cars this season; Red Bull Racing junior team driver Tom Blomqvist in the F3 Euro Series and Slaughter Rallying in the RAC Historic Rally Championship. Former F1 driver and Le Mans 24 Hour winner Mark Blundell completes the group in his role as Ambassador.
Sean Rocks, President and Managing Director of LMIE said: "Sport is playing a major role in our sponsorship programme, as seen by our recent tie-up with international cricket, and LMI is also heavily involved in UK motorsport, providing the liability cover for a range of teams, circuits and governing bodies. It's therefore pleasing to be able to expand our sponsorship programme in motorsport.
"Three of the drivers we're sponsoring are young rising stars advancing rapidly in their respective classes and we're thrilled to be able to help them on their way. From a business perspective, having the Liberty brand visible at race meetings and being able to take some of our broker partners behind the scenes and meet the drivers, helps raise our profile in the world of motorsport".
LMI was launched in 2011 to target the UK mid-market commercial sector. The division offers a wide range of products including property, casualty and financial lines backed up with claims handling and risk engineering services. In addition to its London office, it has regional offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cheltenham, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester.
