Vauxhall gets Luton's Tokko youth facility moving
It's usually vehicles that Vauxhall get moving but this week Vauxhall helped the young people of Luton to make their moves. Tokko, the new youth facility in Gordon Street, Luton took receipt of new equipment for their dynamic dance studio.
Thanks to Vauxhall's sponsorship, mats, skipping ropes, hula hoops and wobble boards are just a few of the items that found their way up to the dramatically designed studio that is now fully equipped to stand up to the rigorous workouts that will take place overlooking Luton's St George's Square.
"This amazing building was designed by young people for young people and that is why Vauxhall chose to support them", said Cherie Denton, Vauxhall's Community Coordinator.
"The dance studio is just one of the marvellous places where young people can express themselves".
"This four storey building, with a garden roof, has something for young people aged 13-19 from all across Luton. Please visit the website www.tokko.co.uk for more information and activities over the summer", said Andy Calvert, Tokko's Executive Manager. "We are thrilled with Vauxhall's donation as it has bought our drama studio alive".
"The Youth Board is very proud of this project and has had an input to its development including the design, the build and all the interior design.
"Please come and pop in and see us and get involved in the activities. We are always looking for new members to support the Youth Board as well", explained Aaron Chamberlain, Youth Board Chairman.
