Crabbie's becomes official partner of The Varsity Match
The Varsity Match and Crabbie's, the number one selling alcoholic ginger beer in the UK, have formed a partnership which sees the drinks brand become an official partner of The Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge universities at Twickenham on Thursday, 8th December, 2016.
The Crabbie's bus will be at Twickenham Stadium giving fans the opportunity to enjoy fun rugby activities and refreshments before and after the women's and men's Varsity Matches. Fans will also be encouraged to use a bespoke Snapchat filter to show how they "Kick Off with a Crabbie's", to be in with a chance of winning great Crabbie's prizes.
Halewood Wines & Spirits Managing Director UK, John Bradbury, said: "With a history that stretches back to 1801, the Crabbie's brand has a strong legacy left by its founder, John Crabbie, making it a perfect fit with The Varsity Match which shares a similar legacy and celebrates the rich tradition of rivalry between two of the world's greatest institutions.
"This new partnership with one of the rugby calendar's most cherished events continues to highlight Crabbie's commitment to rugby, as a proud sponsor of the game".
The Varsity Match Chief Executive, David Searle, said: "We are delighted to have partnered with Crabbie's for the 2016 Varsity Match. This year will be the 135th playing of the men's match and the thirtieth of the women's contest, testament to the matches' shared ability with Crabbie's to stand the test of time".
The 135th Varsity Match and the thirtieth Women's Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge will return to Twickenham on Thursday, 8th December.
