Virgin Money Giving becomes fundraising partner of Brighton Marathon Weekend
Virgin Money Giving has signed a three-year agreement with Grounded Events to be the official fundraising partner of the Brighton Marathon Weekend.
Virgin Money Giving is the U.K's largest not-for-profit fundraising platform and will support the event, runners and charities to raise even more money for good causes.
Over the past seven years the Brighton Marathon, organised by Grounded Events, has established itself as the second largest marathon in the U.K.
Virgin Money Giving's Executive Director, Jo Barnett, said: "I am delighted to announce our new partnership with the Brighton Marathon Weekend. It is a fantastic weekend of fundraising and an inspirational event. As a result of our low fees and not-for-profit status, we have helped to raise over £500 million for charities and saved them over £15 million in fees, since launching in 2009.
"The 2018 Brighton Marathon will be the biggest and best yet and Virgin Money Giving will ensure even more money is raised for good causes".
Over £35 million has been raised for charity by Brighton Marathon participants since the race began in 2010.
Virgin Money Giving will aim to build on the success of the event and seek to inspire and motivate even more fun runners to raise money for good causes.
Grounded Events' Tom Naylor, Managing Director of Grounded Events and Event Director of the Brighton Marathon Weekend, said: "Working with the team at Virgin Money Giving to make the Brighton Marathon Weekend an even stronger fundraising vehicle is an exciting development. We share the same values and we both want to use our expertise to help everyone raise as much money and awareness as possible for great causes".
Virgin Money Giving became the official fundraising partner on 9th April, immediately after the 2017 race.
