GEOFF HOLT ATLANTIC CHALLENGE
The opportunity exists to sponsor record breaking disabled yachtsman Geoff Holt to become the first disabled yachtsman to sail the Atlantic Ocean single-handed. Geoff Holt has already acquired the specialist yacht, the only 60 foot wheelchair-accessible yacht in the world. Sponsorship funds are needed just to cover administrative costs. In return the yacht has two sixty foot white hulls and several thousand square metres of sail, just crying out for a sponsor's logo. Already a proven commodity, in 2007 Geoff Holt became the first disabled yachtsman to sail single handed around Great Britain. Paralysed from the chest down, he sailed his 15 foot trimaran dinghy 1,500 miles to fifty-one destinations in a Challenge that took 109 days to complete. On his return, he wrote a best-selling autobiography, Walking on Water. Now he is attempting the "big one" and with a guaranteed 30 minute documentary and a launch planned with HRH Princess Anne and Dame Ellen MacArthur, DBE, this project offers the title sponsor a unique and highly "PR friendly" marketing opportunity for a modest cost. Contact: Geoff Holt. Address: Ty Melyn, St Anne's Lane, Shedfield SO32 2HR. Tel.: 01329 835151. E-mail: geoff@geoffholt.com.

The Green Blue is a trailblazing initiative developed by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and the British Marine Federation (BMF) to deliver real world solutions and best practice guidance to the recreational marine sector to minimise its impact on the coastal and inland marine environment. The organisation focusses on high impact awareness raising through published materials, targeted publicity, presence at marine events and support from high profile ambassadors, including Mike Golding and Dee Caffari, delivering practical demonstration projects (e.g. boat washdown systems or recycling facilities), building a bank of research to ensure their work is scientifically underpinned and making information available to assist in the preparation of Environmental Impact Statements for marine businesses. Sponsorship opportunities range from strategic partnerships through to one-off events, including the Annual Conference and theme specific workshops and launches. Benefits and rights can include    prominent logo placement    co-branding of PR and communications    brand association with a leading edge marine environmental programme    access to the whole UK recreational boating sector (over 3.5 million participants) and to a RYA/BMF combined membership of 500,000 people and 1,600 businesses    promotional opportunities, including the Southampton and London International Boat Shows    event branding, pre/post event publicity    opportunities to showcase the sponsor's Corporate Social Responsibility    participation of the sponsor's stakeholders and staff in Green Blue events    and access to Green Blue's network of partners to assist the sponsor in meeting their environmental policy targets. The organisation gives young crew members the chance to overcome personal challenges and achieve things they would never have believed themselves capable of doing. Sponsorship is also sought in connection with the vessel's maintenance and refit (there is an annual £60,000 appeal). 3. SSG/008 SALAMIS AFLOAT
Salamis is a 20-foot family classic sports cruising boat, built in 1987. She is white with a blue band around her hull and is the last known boat made by the Cheetah boat building company of Southampton. She is well loved by the family which owns her, who regularly cruise to marinas on the south coast, mainly in the Brighton, Littlehampton and Chichester areas. With a new trailer the owners would be able to trail her to marinas further afield. Keeping a little known classic cruiser afloat is now costing around £2,000 to £3,000 a year in mooring fees and maintenance, which has become a difficult cost for the owners to meet with a young teenage family dependent on their income. So they would like to offer the hull and superstucture of Salamis for advertising banners, in exchange for the cost of her upkeep. Contact: Salamis. E-mail: robbie.lewis@btinternet.com.
