BETH FRENCH
Beth French is an elite athlete without the elite bank balance ... so far, totally self-funded, she has trained and funded her solo swim of the English Channel and became the first British woman to swim the treacherous Kaiwi Channel in Hawaii - a feat that took twenty-four hours of non-stop swimming. Her swim was filmed for Hawaiian Xtreme Sports TV. Beth is looking for sponsorship to take her to the next level: swims that have never been done before. This summer, 2014, she is attempting to swim the twenty-six miles from Cornwall to the Scilly Isles - and her main drive is to tackle the Ocean Seven list in one year. She discovered her steely determination and unique version of humour under duress by overcoming ME. Suffering from the age of ten years old, she was in a wheelchair at seventeen. For Beth, water is where the world makes sense and she is fond of saying (over and over on her marathon swims ...) "It's not over till I run out of water". Sponsors can expect to be tweeted and blogged about, with corporate links on her website and sport media platforms, and she is an accomplished speaker about becoming your own hero, time and effort management and her 'life less ordinary'. For these or other opportunities, please contact her. "Any drop in the ocean will help! Many thanks for your consideration". Contact: Beth French. Address: 5 Fairfield Terrace, Milverton TA4 1QX. ELITE ATHLETE PERFORMANCE CENTRE, LOUGHBOROUGH, LEICESTERSHIRE Loughborough College is creating an Elite Athlete Performance Centre for talented top athletes aged 16-18 years, the only one of its kind in the United Kingdom. The centre will capture the elite talent from around the UK and create an environment that will deliver world class coaching, enhanced performance and provide a gold standard education as well as the best in pastoral care. The existing premises with character, built in the late nineteenth century and known as The Gables, will be transformed and refurbished into a state-of-the-art facility. "For this important venture there is no government support - hence we are seeking sponsorship and need up to £1 million. Your involvement could be an offer of support in sponsorship, making a financial donation, providing goods and services in kind or even organising a fundraising event. The association, publicity and benefits will certainly be rewarding for you and also for your business if it is involved. As the scheme develops alongside the build-up to London 2012, the spotlight will fall on Loughborough and Leicestershire. In years to come, successful athletes from a range of sports will graduate from the centre. So over the coming months and years there will be a range of benefits for young athletes, our community and our supporters. We also are sure that there will be many important benefits for our sponsors. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be associated with this prestigious project. Dame Kelly Holmes gave her full support at a recent press conference, backing the initiative to provide crucial development opportunities for young people who cannot otherwise access the type of world class provision needed to maintain their sporting ambitions. Accommodation and facilities include
high quality accommodation specifically targeted at young sporting athletes
access to Loughborough's world class performance coaching and facilities
lifestyle and sports science support
high quality flexible education
personal development
pastoral care and support
internet access
laundry facilities
a common room for relaxing and a large kitchen where breakfast or evening meals can be prepared
a dedicated member of staff available during College daytime hours
sports nutritionists/advisors available. We are seeking sponsorship for the naming rights of the centre, to assist the refurbishment of each room (twenty-two rooms in total), new equipment for kitchens, laundry, internet, common room, bedrooms, and all other facilities this centre requires to operate fully. The centre is aiming to be open by Spring 2012 in readiness for the Olympics. To see a full list of sponsorship opportunities and benefits, please download the attached document or contact Barrie Pierpoint on 07720 406806 to discuss your interest and involvement". LAMIN DEEN, 2 MAN BOBSLEIGH DRIVER TEAMGB Lamin Deen is a Team GB Bobsleigh athlete. He is still a serving member of the 1st Grenadier Guards (sergeant) and represents Great Britain as driver of the two man Bobsleigh. His goal is to win GOLD at the Winter Olympics 2014 and he is looking for a sponsor to join him on a journey of success and achievement. Lamin served in Bosnia, Iraq and Northern Ireland and is a physical training instructor for the Grenadier Guards. He achieved this by not only being a fit and capable Soldier but also because of his sporting excellence. Lamin Deen joined the British Bobsleigh Squad in 2006. He quickly progressed as brakeman in both two and four men teams. In 2010, he was involved in a serious crash at 96.5 mph and was unable to compete in the 2010 Olympics. Now fully recovered, Lamin has been promoted to Driver of the two man Bob and competes in both the Europa Cup circuit and the prestigious World Championship, both of which receive extensive TV and media coverage globally, but mainly across Europe. Now Lamin has started his journey in preparation for the Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi, Russia. The journey is one of hard work, commitment and dedication and will see Lamin win or achieve high positions in the competitions above in preparation for 2014. His only goal is GOLD in 2014. The sponsors will be invited to benefit from this journey in terms of advertising, development of their market appeal, market share and enhanced image. The journey is likely to be carbon neutral if possible and could therefore fit with the sponsor's CSR policy. Also Lamin is able to offer personal appearances, motivational presentations and other business support to the right sponsor. "Why not make a commitment to run parallel with Lamin on this journey, moving your product or company from its current position to number one in 2014, a goal and achievement to be proud of". JOE COOMBS - CANOE SLALOM ATHLETE Joe Coombs is a 21 year old GB Canoe Slalom Athlete and competes in the Men's Kayak discipline. His dream is to go to, and win a medal at, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. For the past ten years Joe has been on the development pathway aiming for the Rio Olympics. However, this season hasn't gone to plan: due to university exams and injury he hasn't reached his performance potential and has been dropped from UK Sport funding, even though he narrowly missed the senior team by 0.2 of a second. He is training hard and funding himself on limited savings at present. He is a final year Business Management and Marketing student and Nottingham Trent University and knows the potential positives of investing in local talent. He can strengthen your brand and can attend your PR events. He can guide traffic from his website www.joecoombs.co.uk (see link below) to yours and could even take your staff on a canoeing day! Trying to fund his sport is very difficult - each season he buys a boat worth £1,800 and the total training costs he incurs easily exceed £8,000. In return for your sponsorship support, he can help develop your brand and appeal to your customers. He has plenty of space for your logos on the boat, paddles, buoyancy aid and helmet and can feature you on his website and Youtube channel, which has over 36,000 video views. Follow him on Twitter: @Joe_Coombs. Contact: Joe Coombs. Address: 43 Pyatt Street, Nottingham NG2 2LD. Tel.: +44 7934951351. E-mail: joey350@hotmail.co.uk; link to website

STACEY TADD Stacey Tadd has just been to the London 2012 Olympics for Swimming and has been to all the major competitions within the last four years. For the past two years she has been awarded UK Sport Lottery funding. However, from the end of October she will no longer receive this as she missed the standard set by them by three places. She is currently number one in Britain and has been crowned British Champion for three years running for her event, the 200m Breastroke, and she also holds the long course English Record. "I feel that I have a bit more to give to my sport and don't really want to hang up my goggles yet, but feel I may have to, as to swim full time without the funds is impossible, as I need to live and pay for things. I was wondering if there is anything I could do for you and your company in order for you to help fund/sponsor me in my swimming career as I am still improving? I would be happy to help advertise your business, such as wear your brand's name on my club kit at competitions. Any interviews I do I will praise and mention you. My full achievements can be found via this link:
http://www.swimming.org/britishswimming/swimming/womens-profiles/stacey-tadd/7255/. Many Thanks for taking the time to read this and I really hope you can help. Stacey Tadd". Contact: Stacey Tadd.
