INDOOR SKYDIVING OPPORTUNITIES TAKE OFF FOR HIGH-FLYING SPONSORS

Bodyflight World Challenge 2007 boasts a position as the premier indoor skydiving world event at the world's largest indoor skydiving centre, the phenomenal Bodyflight Bedford.

The sponsor's brand will benefit from association with one of the world's newest and most exciting sports events and following its success this year, it's a proven media attention-grabber too. The competition on the 8th-9th April, 2006 attracted media and participants from around the world, including the UK, USA, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, France and Spain, with participants competing to win cash prizes totalling £16,000.

The event also attracted a number of national teams including the current world Formation Skydiving champions, team Airspeed Odyssey from the US, the British Army team and Babylon, the French world champion freefly team. It achieved TV coverage on Sports News Television (worldwide upcast to over 300 broadcasters throughout the world, including ABC), Trans World Sports (Sky and Channel 4) and local coverage on Anglia. Footage is currently being edited into a 24 minute special to be broadcast (stc) on Xtreme Sports Channel.

The intention is that the Freefly and Formation events will be run together in 2007, as opposed to on separate days, with twice as many teams so an even wider range of flyers can enter. The 'Your Brand Here' Bodyflight World Challenge 2007 will, as in 2006, feature two categories: 4-way formation and 2-way freefly. In the 4-way formation category, teams of four have to complete as many scoring formations as possible within the working time, while correctly following the sequence for the round. In the 2-way freefly event each two-person team has to perform a sequence of artistic 3D moves with the highest merit. The accumulated total of all rounds is then used to determine the final placing of the teams.

"The volume of interest already in the World Challenge 2007 has been staggering. Building on the success of the 2006 event we've already got commitment from some of the best skydivers in the world making this event one of the most important in the skydiving calendar. It's a brilliant opportunity for sponsors, as the inside of the vertical wind tunnel, the event itself and all publicity material can be branded and will feature in almost every shot unlike actual skydiving events": Paul Mayer, MD, Bodyflight Bedford.
