In October 2008, Lewis Hopkins was selected as one of only two winners of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2009 Scholarship, out of fifty young drivers who applied. Sponsorship opportunities are now available, giving potential sponsors the chance to invest in a young, successful driver in return for significant motorsport exposure during 2009.

Lewis came into motorsport via Junior Rallycross at the age of fourteen and got the buzz immediately, winning his first race within three months. After moving into circuit racing in 2006, he has been a consistent front-runner, with eighteen career podium finishes to date, including seven wins and one championship.

In 2008, he finished the season with a hat-trick of wins and third place overall in the Caterham Roadsport A championship. In assessing Lewis, former Carrera Cup champion and Porsche adviser Richard Westbrook said, "His pace was superb and a big surprise. I saw raw natural ability".

To date, his results have been achieved through family support alone and limited sponsorship. The Porsche Carrera Cup GB will take things to a new level completely and he's looking forward to showing his true potential.

Whilst Porsche will be providing a significant contribution, there is still a large budget required to pay the difference to cover the full season costs. In return for investment, sponsors will benefit from live TV coverage on the ITV network, large crowds of up to 30,000 per event, high-end motorsport association and connection to a young, successful driver, backed by Porsche, who is already attracting media interest.
